About me

HI! My name is Mareille, welcome, I’m happy you’re here. I’m an Amsterdam based yoga-instructor on a mission to help others feel great with yoga. I started practicing yoga in 2004 as a way to become more flexible in my body. I practiced a lot of sports and I studied Sports and Movements, in that time my muscles always felt stiff. Later on I found out that yoga was also the key to find inner peace in my restless mind. Practicing yoga is so much more than body’s flexibility. I found out that the relationship between physical and emotional health is very close.  Therefore my teachings are always on a physical and emotional level. 

Before I started practicing yoga I couldn’t quiet my mind for a single minute and I always seemed to have aches and pains in my lower back. Once I started to practicing regularly, bit by bit I became stronger and calmer.  Yoga is now integrated in my daily life in a fundamental way. It helps me with everything. It teaches me to stay focused and to be receptive.

I believe that integrating just a little bit of yoga into your life can help you to make some shifts. Whether that’s going to class once or twice a week,  doing a few poses at home or taking a daily 15 minutes to meditate.

After graduating my Bachelor in Sports. I started as a Physical Education Teacher at a primary school in Amsterdam East, and after some years of teaching children sports,  I decided to follow my heart and started my own yoga and massage business. I always kept my love for people, teaching and movements.
